Initial Release
The first release is finally here!
It’s a little rough around the edges, but hopefully I’ll look to smooth those out over time.
A few things I feel should mention:
- I’ve locked the resolution to 1280×800 (16:10) for now, since I still need to test the occlusion at higher resolutions. I’ll provide an option for selecting supported resolutions in a later build.
- the functionality for highlighting previously read text isn’t accurate, since I still need to re-id all the dialogue. It’s turned off by default, so it’s best to just ignore it for now.
- the occlusion is a little temperamental, and so there may be the odd vanishing chair or bin here or there, however it shouldn’t really be too noticeable.
- the audio still needs correctly mixing, and so it may be a good idea to turn the master, BGM, SFX and AMB volumes down in the settings to about 50%.
Regarding gameplay, once you’ve completed the first 6 events, you can find the final prologue event in the central courtyard. I’ll be looking to add more NPC’s to the prologue, but ultimately many of the empty rooms in the school are intended to be used by any new characters in the future.

Now, on to the basic game specification: multiple main characters/routes – I currently have about 7 different character routes outlined for inclusion, the plan is to make at least 4 chapters for each route. multiple hypnotic inductions and “props”, with some introduced to the player as a form of “power-up”, that enables the player to progress certain plot points. interactive and explorative approach to gameplay – the player is able to navigate between different locations, and interact with the environment to further progress the plot.
side plots – once the game framework is sturdy enough, I’ll be able to quickly create a steady stream of high-quality one-off scenarios within the game universe, covering a wide variety of hypnotic situations – I already have plenty in mind, but suggestions for more would obviously be more than welcome. mini-games – I’m 50/50 at the moment regarding whether to include game-mechanics such as QTE, or standalone mini-games (think Danganronpa’s “Logic Dive” as an example). I’m more than happy to hear any interesting ideas that come my way though!
